Our ancient history excursions to Italy, Greece and Egypt have been highly successful and provide valuable insights for the students who attend.
Courses offered in Years 7 and 8 focus on the ancient world such as Egypt, Greece and Rome. As well classes study the Middle Ages, American Indians, Vikings and Voyages of Discovery.
In the middle years 20th Century Australian history is taught and topics including our past in the First and Second World Wars, the Vietnam War and The Great Depression are studied.
In the senior years both modern and ancient history are popular choices. Study of Japanese and American history are the focus of modern history in the 19th Centuries. A detailed study of the conflict in the Pacific with a focus on American and Japanese battle techniques is studied as well as World War One.
In ancient history Greek, Roman and Egyptian cultures are explored as well as modern archaeology, myths and legends and famous artefacts from the past. Famous battles, strategies and tactics form the focus of study. Extension history is offered in Year 12 only for students who enjoy personal research and philosophical ideas.
