Students in Year 6 in local public schools are given a ‘Choice of High Schools' form by the primary school. This form is issued in June and must be completed and returned to the primary school principal, who then forwards it on to the chosen high school.
If the Year 6 student's family lives in the Randwick Boys' High School zone, then enrolment at this school is guaranteed.
If the student's family does not live in the school's zone, then reasons for seeking enrolment must be outlined on the ‘Choice of High Schools' form. Primary school staff can assist with this process.
Parents of Year 6 students are informed by letter in July whether they have been accepted into Year 7 for the following year.
Students in Year 6 in independent primary schools do not follow this procedure. Parents need to contact the Randwick Boys' High School office, and a special application form will be despatched.
