Musical activities

Jam sessions

Students are encouraged to participate in lunchtime jam sessions, taking place at lunchtime. Jam sessions are an opportunity for students to come along and do what all musicians love doing – jam.  Students can sing, play instruments, dance, practise privately, and simply enjoy making music individually or in small groups. Chords and lyrics are provided, practise rooms are available and students from any year group of any level of ability are welcome.

Concert band and sectional ensembles

Randwick Boys' has a concert band for students that play brass, string and woodwind instruments, plus drums, bass and piano.  The concert band rehearses each week on Thursday morning at 8am and the ensembles rehearse at various times throughout the week. Specialised tutors instruct the ensembles. We perform at a variety of events at school and in the community.

Vocal ensemble

The vocal group rehearses Tuesday and Friday mornings and welcomes anyone who would like to sing. They rehearse a variety of music and have performed at school assemblies and functions.

Instrument tuition

Private tuition is available in piano, guitar, drums, woodwind and brass instruments. Lessons occur either before school or during class for 30 minutes. See your music teacher for more information.
