Year 8 – Water in the World – Warragamba Dam
Excursions to Warragamba Dam, one of the world's largest domestic water supply dams, allow students to further develop their understanding of the environment. Students see firsthand the effects of drought on Sydney’s water supply. A discovery circuit reveals insights into the construction of the dam, while a visit to the permanent Water For Life exhibition improves knowledge of catchment management practices. Water testing and field sketching are also carried out to allow students to contextualise their understanding to the local site. A visit to Warragamba Dam is a day to remember!
